Nick is feeling a little better tonight- the new pain regimen is helping I think.
He still can't really talk much because he is really loopy.
Tests confirmed a big, bad, ulcer. In the stomach where it connects to the small intestine. That is all we know for right now- no meeting with his oncologists has occured to discuss the plan. For now he can't eat and you know how he loves food!
He will be in the hospital for at least 2 more days.
His red cell count is low- his platelets came up.
It's been and continues to be a roller coaster ride.

Heartfelt thanks for the update, Kimberley...it's so hard being so far away at a time like this. We're glad that Nick's pain is yielding to the new regimen. You and he remain an inspiration. We will hope and pray for a positive resolution. In the meantime, we wish you peace...and some rest. Love, Adele and Peter
ReplyDeleteKimberley, It's a relief to hear they have a better understanding of what is causing the stomach pain, and I'm very thankful that the new pain meds seem to be doing a better job of keeping Nick's pain under control. It's also wonderful to hear that the platelet count is coming back up. Hopefully the next step will be to get some meds into Nick that can begin to heal this ulcer. Slow but steady steps in the right direction. Please keep giving Nick our love. Thanks for all you do, xxxx Ozzie
